Illick’s Mill: A cultural and culinary treasure in the heart of Bethlehem.

Illick’s Mill is a place steeped in history and culture that offers much more than just a tour. This mill, also known as Peters’ Mill and Monocacy Milling Co., was built in 1856 and is a four-story building made of vernacular stone with a heavy timber frame interior. Originally measuring approximately 34 by 40 feet, it was expanded in the 1880s with a 20-foot addition and the addition of the fourth level and a monitor roof.

Illick’s Mill is located in Monocacy Park in Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Additionally, the mill was also the home of the Fox Environmental Center before the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Mid-Atlantic Conservation Office occupied a portion of the building under a lease agreement with the city of Bethlehem.

But in addition to its rich history, Illick’s Mill also offers delicious food and drink. On the first level of the mill is the Hijinx Brewery and Distillery, where you can sample their craft beers and spirits while enjoying the view of the Monocacy Creek.

And if you’re looking for food, the second level of the mill features the Monocacy Crossing restaurant, where you can enjoy local and seasonal dishes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, all in a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

Lastly, if you’re looking for something exciting to enjoy with family or a partner, Illick’s Mill offers a variety of outdoor activities in the park, from hiking and biking to fishing and boating.

In summary, Illick’s Mill is a place full of history and culture that offers a complete experience for all tastes, from delicious food and drink to exciting outdoor activities. It’s definitely worth a visit!
