Arriving at the lakeside by train from Milan is a popular choice for those wanting to see Lake Como without taking long car rides through winding mountain roads. It takes about 90 minutes from Milan Station to arrive at Ossuccio station by train; once you arrive at Ossuccio Station, simply get on bus number 20C (also called Piazza Luigi di Savoia) and ride to Cernobbio town square. Alternatively, you can take a taxi directly to the hotel. Once at the hotel, have lunch in their restaurant overlooking Lake Como before checking in and enjoying a day of pampering before heading out for dinner and drinks at Hotel Villa d’Este. Villa de Este. Spend your days enjoying all that Lake Como has to offer: book a boat tour along the shoreline and make reservations for lunch on Murano Island. Murano Island. Take time to browse the stores and galleries in every town that you stop. Visit Lenno for a wine tasting experience at Galleria La Pergola, where guests can find wines from all over Italy. Walk through Parco Sempione Park or head to Capuchin Convent while in Monza. Getting away to one of Italy’s most beautiful and famous lakes doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg when planning your luxury vacation. At least four times per week during peak summer months, there are ferries leaving from Como, located just south of Milano, all year round except for December 25th. Those who wish to travel between three cities across Lake Como will be pleased with how easy it is – whether staying in Bellagio at Bellagio Plaza & Spa Hotel or Varenna at Grand Hotel Tremezzo & Grand Hotels Della Stua Palace, catching a ferry between these destinations does not require a lot of travel time. The best way to explore Lake Como is with an automobile rental so that you can venture off on your own time. This way you can visit sights at your leisure without feeling rushed and without having to worry about finding transportation. One thing to remember is that in order to drive in Italy, you need an International Driver’s License. You may also want to consider hiring a private driver for your Lake Como excursion. This is a great option if you plan on renting a car and want to take in the scenery, or if you don’t want to navigate the often difficult and narrow streets of this country. A private driver can also help you avoid the stress of getting lost, as well as help you if your cell phone doesn’t work abroad. Coral Garden Snorkel Trail: Coral Garden Snorkel Trail provides a nice way to see tropical fish without having to go deep underwater. You’ll have access to equipment such as masks, fins, and snorkels which are provided on-site. Another great thing about this location is that guests do not have to worry about carrying their gear with them; all they have to do is put it on when they arrive and then head out onto the trail! After completing the trail (which takes between 20 minutes and 30 minutes), head back up to grab a refreshing drink before continuing your day on Waikiki Beach! While the trails are not a breathtaking type of scenery, it is a great and inexpensive alternative to other types of ocean adventures. For those interested in staying here but don’t plan on getting married there like me, don’t be fooled by the resort part of the name because this place has many options available if you’re just looking for something less extravagant than a full-blown hotel! One of the best things to do while in Moorea is to explore the lush green vegetation, stop and smell the flowers, and take in a view of Mount Tohivea. There are many paths you can choose to follow, so pick one that appeals to you and start walking! This is one of my favorite spots on the island. One of my favorite restaurants on this side of the island is Uma Uma Island Bistro. The atmosphere is lovely, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. There’s also a poolside bar where you can relax with a drink after dinner!
